Fewer sign-in steps

Switch saved Codex accounts without a full sign-out loop.

Add the accounts you use, then choose the active profile from the Mac menu bar.

Short answer

switch Codex accounts without logging out

Codex Switcher stores separate local account profiles after you add them. Choose a saved profile from the menu bar to change the active Codex account without repeating the full sign-out and sign-in process each time.

Complete sign-in during setup

Add the first account and finish its browser sign-in. Give it a name that matches the work. Add the next account in the same way.

The setup step creates the saved account choices. You may need to sign in again when access expires or OpenAI requires a fresh authorization.

Choose the saved profile

Open Codex Switcher from the menu bar and select the account you want. The check mark moves to the selected profile.

Return to Codex after the menu confirms the account. Save or pause work before switching if a task depends on the account that started it.

  • Add each account before you need it.
  • Use a clear name for each profile.
  • Confirm the check mark after selection.

Keep account data separate

The switch changes the active account profile. It does not merge chats, projects, subscriptions, billing, or workspace administration.

OpenAI offers a separate account switcher on ChatGPT web. Its current help article says that web control does not cover Codex Desktop, so confirm the desktop account in the desktop workflow.

Know when sign-in returns

Saved access can expire. Re-authorize the affected profile when Codex Switcher reports an expired sign-in or the account no longer works.

Removing a profile also removes it from the quick selection list. Add it again if you need that account later. The other saved profiles remain separate. A clear list makes the next switch easier to verify before you return to work.
