Mac account switching
Switch Codex accounts from your Mac menu bar.
Add each account once. After that, choose the account you need from one native Mac menu.
Add once. Switch anytime.

Open Add Account
During setup, choose Add Account. Later, the same action is always available in the menu bar menu.

Add your first account. You can always rename or add accounts later.

Sign in with your browser
Choose Sign In with Browser and finish sign-in. Repeat this step for each work, personal, or client account.
Add Account
Choose how you want to add your account.
AdvancedBrowser sign-in is the default. Device Code, API Key, and Access Token stay under Advanced. - 3
Choose the active account
Open Codex Switcher and select an account. The check mark confirms the active account before you return to Codex.
Select an account in the native menu. The check mark shows which account is active.
What the menu shows
- Active account and plan
- 5-hour and 7-day usage when available
- Reset timing and available reset credits
Quick fixes
- Usage says unknown: switching still works.
- Sign-in expired: add or re-authorize the account.
- Activation link expired: request a fresh link.
Limits and privacy
Codex Switcher does not change OpenAI limits and has no affiliation with OpenAI. Credentials stay with the local account tools; the app reads the account label, plan, and available usage data.
