Check Codex usage from the menu bar.

Open the account menu

Select the Codex Switcher icon in the menu bar. The active account has a check mark. Usage rows sit under each saved account when current data is available.

Read the account label first. Usage belongs to that account, so a clear name prevents you from reading a work limit as a personal limit.

Read percentage and reset together

The percentage and reset time describe one usage window. Keep your eye on both. A high remaining value with a distant reset means something different from a low value that resets soon.

The menu can show five-hour and seven-day windows. OpenAI may change the data it provides, and some plans or account states may expose different details.

• Confirm the account name.
• Match the percentage to its window.
• Read the reset time on the same row.

Handle unknown usage

Unknown usage does not block account switching. It means Codex Switcher could not read a current value from the local tools. Try the account again after Codex refreshes its state.

Re-authorize the account if its sign-in has expired. Check OpenAI's Codex usage page or limit banner when you need the account authority rather than a menu summary.

Use status to choose, not to stretch limits

Usage visibility helps you select the account intended for the next task and understand when a window resets. It should not replace the account rules set by OpenAI or your organization.

Codex Switcher does not increase capacity or change plan access. It organizes the values available on your Mac and keeps them close to the account selector.
