Keep the window attached to the time

A menu can show a short usage window and a longer one. Each window tracks a different period. Do not compare a five-hour percentage with the reset date from the seven-day row.

Treat reset text as current status

Reset times can change with the account plan, current OpenAI offers, and service behavior. Read them as the latest reported state rather than a permanent schedule.

OpenAI's own Codex notice remains the authority when a task reaches a limit. The menu bar view gives you a short status check before you open or resume work.

Available resets are separate

Some eligible accounts may receive banked resets through current OpenAI offers. A reset credit is not the same as the scheduled reset time for a usage window.

Codex Switcher can show the available reset count when local tools expose it. Apply any reset through the control provided by OpenAI and review the terms attached to the offer.

Plan work with a status check

Check the active account and its reset rows before you start a large task. If the account is close to a limit, decide whether to wait, use an eligible reset, or continue under the account and plan intended for that work.

Account switching should preserve identity boundaries. Do not move company work to a personal account to avoid an organization rule.
